The NUS MBA Alumni Club is co-organizing a Distinguished Alumni Business Leaders Forum titled “Is The World Flat? Opportunities for
Entrepreneurs & SMEs in The Globalized World in the 21st Century” on 9th November with Singapore Business Federation and MIT Alumni. The event is also supported by the NUS Business School and DUAL. The Distinguished Alumni Business Leaders Forum is a platform that
brings together top corporate executives, successful business leaders and entrepreneurs from the alumni community of top universities and
business schools as well as academic and student leaders to interact and share life experiences, practical wisdom and relevant insights.
Each session will feature a panel of prominent business and industry practitioners who will discuss their challenges, achievements and opportunities based on a topic of interest. It is anticipated that the audience will be actively engaged in stimulating discussions at each session to learn about business issues, industry growth trends and opportunities.

7. Eric Clapton Concert – Saturday 13 January, Singapore Indoor Stadium

Cornell Alumni Club is pleased to invite DUAL to join them at the Eric Clapton concert on Saturday 13 January, 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Eric Clapton is an icon in rock and roll, and a legendary blues guitarist. He is the only triple inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Yardbirds, Cream and as solo artist) and making his first visit to Singapore in 17 years. Among his well known works are “Crossroads, Layla, Wonderful Tonight, Lay Down Sally, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, etc.” High end tickets for this   concert are at $399 and $299. Cornell has secured a block of tickets at $127 each (Sistic charge included) but will offer to DUAL at $114.30 (10% discount) in a good section facing the stage (block T02, Rows 22 and 23). We look forward to sharing a night of great music with you with a classic.

8. Career Opportunity – Junior Achievement – Executive Director

Junior Achievement Worldwide (www.ja.org) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing education programs in economics and business to young people. JA Worldwide is one of the world’s largest NGO’s offering enterprise education programs. 6.5 million students are participating in JA Worldwide in 100 countries around the world. JA brings together local businesspeople and schools in a variety of ways. For example, businesspeople volunteer their time to teach the programs in local classrooms. The program content focuses on economic literacy, business skills, enterprise and entrepreneurship, personal and career development, and ethics and social economics.

Junior Achievement is establishing itself in Singapore and will begin to offer such programs here. As such, Junior Achievement is currently looking for an Executive Director to start-up and run the program. Please see attached job description for further info.

Once Junior Achievement is established in Singapore, DUAL will look into having our members volunteer in their programs.
