Official Launch of Bridges on 8 June 2013

The Cambridge Chapter is pleased to announce that the official launch of the alumni commemorative volume, “Bridges: Celebrating the Cambridge-Singapore Connection”, will be on 8 June, Saturday.

Bridges brings together the many memories of Singaporeans through the ages (from the 1950s through to the present-day) who have studied at the University of Cambridge. Through a series of interviews, written contributions and memorabilia, it chronicles their experiences, as well as their reflections on what the Cambridge experience and lifelong connection has meant to them. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Bridges will go towards our supported charity, the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS).

Details of official launch

We welcome all alumni and especially contributors to the book to attend the launch, where we can mingle and share memories of Cambridge, hear from MINDS regarding their work, and how the proceeds from Bridges can help. Drinks and finger food will be provided.

Details of the event are as follows:

Date: Saturday, 8 June 2013
Time: 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm
Venue: University Lounge, Level 6, SMU Building, 81 Victoria Street
Dress code: Smart Casual
(There is no charge for this event. However, to help us estimate how much food we need to cater, please do RSVP at this page by 28 May)

How to get the book

Payment for the book will be in the form of a direct donation to MINDS, which like all charitable donations, qualifies for 250% tax deduction. Please pay by cheque addressed to “MINDS”.

Copies of Bridges can be purchased and collected at the launch. Attendees of the Cambridge 800th Anniversary Gala Dinner are entitled to a copy of the book. If you are unable to attend but would like to purchase a copy, orders of the book, priced at a minimum donation to MINDS of $75, can be made through submitting an order form at the following link: http://www.tinyurl.com/cambridge-sg-book. Each copy will be bundled with a small craftwork created by the persons with disabilities who work at MINDS.

We will make alternative arrangements for pick-up after the launch date, and will keep you posted. This also applies to those who have sent in pre-orders for the book but are unable to attend the launch. If you require such alternative arrangements, please do inform or remind us by replying to this email.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing many of you on 8 June!

Yours,
Cambridge Chapter
